Brilliant Bookshops: Cornell Books

An ancient settlement found where the River Severn and the River Avon meet, Tewkesbury is a lovely Cotswold town with black and white half–timbered buildings, overhanging upperstoreys and narrow alleyways. It is a fascinating place to visit, full of history.

Tewkesbury is blessed with three bookshops, each special in its own way, each offering a fabulous range of books. Cornell Books is found in one of Tewkesbury’s lovely half-timbered buildings with uneven floors which used to be an Inn. A narrow passageway, now lined with books for sale, leads down the side of the building. Once inside, there are rooms full of second-hand treasures to explore and enjoy!

This is one of those books shops where time stands still and hours pass as the shelves reveal treasure after treasure. Make sure you allow plenty of time for a visit…
