Brilliant Bookshops: Grove Books

Surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire moors, famous for the song, "On Ilkley Moor baht 'at" and a site of Special Scientific Interest due to its upland habitat for ground-nesting birds, Ilkley is a pretty spa town with a lovely 'Bettys' tea room- and a brilliant bookshop!

'The Grove Bookshop' is a welcoming, friendly shop with plenty to offer the book lover.  The children's section offers a great range of picture books, 'first' books, fiction and YA titles. They also had a very tempting table highlighting their publisher of the month, in this case, Notting Hill Editions. These were beautiful and it took a lot of will power not to indulge!

Much to my husband's delight, there is also a music section downstairs which offers an excellent range of jazz, blues and orchestral CDs and records and sheet music. There is also a travel department with maps and travel guides.

Whilst we were there, it was very obvious that this is a thriving, popular shop at the heart of its community. A constant stream of customers were warmly welcomed and left clutching new books as we did! The shop also seems to have a full calendar of events.
