Brilliant Bookshops: The Little Ripon Bookshop

Home to a fabulous cathedral, Ripon is one of England's oldest cities whose charm and character remind me of Wells in Somerset. At the heart of the city is the ancient market place and tucked down Westgate Street, one of the roads leading from this, there is a lovely bookshop which is an absolute must for every book-lover to visit.

'The Little Ripon Bookshop' is an absolute treasure! When I last visited, the shop was much smaller, but has since expanded into the premises next door which now bears the name of ‘The Ripon Bookshop’. The ‘Little’ side is devoted to children’s books, a lovely space, packed with plenty of reading delights!

Welcoming and knowledgeable staff are on hand to make recommendations and share their passion for books with customers, but there is a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for browsing the extensive stock at leisure. Everything is beautifully displayed, making it even more tempting and there are lovely touches like the sewing machine bookends!

The perfect place to browse and buy, 'The Little Ripon Bookshop' is an absolute gem of a bookshop and one high on my ‘must visit’ list when I am in Yorkshire.
