New York Public Library

This is a cheat post on my part. The real Winnie-the-Pooh and four of his best friends—Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga, and Tigger—live in The New York Public Library. Much as I would love to see them, I have never been, but one of my lovely nephews, who lives in New York, kindly visited for me.

The toys were presented to The New York Public Library on September 11, 1987. They were donated by the owner of the toys, with the blessing of Christopher Robin Milne, on the condition that they be publicly displayed. Roo, Kanga’s baby, was lost in an apple orchard near Christopher Robin’s home in the 1930s, but the others are now proudly displayed in the library.

You can read about the Hundred Acre Wood here.
