Brilliant Bookshops: Palas Print

Caernarfon is well known for its stunning castle, built by Edward I which took 47 years to complete and cost a staggering £25,000. Lloyd George, whose statue stands near the fortress, was the Liberal MP for Caernarfon Boroughs for 55 years, from 1890 to 1945.

Palas Print is an independent bookshop, selling both English and Welsh language books. Offering a wide range of fiction and factual books, a wealth of books are attractively presented, making browsing a pleasure.

The staff are clearly bilingual and very proud of their Welsh heritage. When my husband expressed an interest in learning Welsh (which he is now doing!), the lady serving was extremely helpful, making plenty of suggestions and offering lots of encouragement. I bought some lovely books of Welsh legends- in English- and enjoyed looking at the Welsh editions. Very friendly bookshop, well worth a visit!
